About Us
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise…or sleep in, wiggle your toes in the sand, read a book or spend an afternoon simply taking in the sights and sounds of the water then sidle up to an evening bonfire.

Where It All Began
“In love with Scotland, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay.”

History of the Area
The fourth oldest English settlement in the US, the area is rich in history. St. Mary’s City, the capital of Maryland for 64 years until 1694 is 10 miles away. Less than two miles away is beautiful Point Lookout State Park. Built as a resort hotel just prior to the Civil War, Pt. Lookout ultimately became a Union prisoner-of-war camp for captured confederates. The British landed here in the War of 1812. Then home to a different kind of war later in the 19th century – the oyster wars between pirates and legal oystermen in Maryland and Virginia.
Today, the focus is on more peaceful activities like farming, fishing, boating and water activities. Oysters are once more booming from a combination of recovery efforts and oyster farming, helping to filter and preserve the Chesapeake Bay.
